Devonport Community Baptist Church

Mount Wise Neighbourhood Centre
Devonport, Plymouth PL1 4LQ

We are a friendly small, community church located in the historic town of Devonport in Plymouth. We are relatively young church and we try to be as creative as possible . Devonport was once a flourishing Dockyard, it has now become an area of high deprivation. The area is predominantly white working class and mostly unchurched (2 small churches for a population of close to 6000).

At Restore we believe that we need to be people that live a life of Grace, that we don’t wait for others to treat us right but that we set the tone for our families, our work places, our schools by first showing Grace to others.

At Restore we believe that church should be Foundational in it’s teaching, a church built on Biblical truths and knowing what God has called us to.

We believe church should be Committed to the Word of God, to prayer, to each other and the community.

At Restore we believe we are called to live 58 which is taken from Isaiah 58:6-12 and we hope by living our lives like this we will be a place where people can come and are Restored to God. A church where anyone can find rest, reconnect with God and find healing spiritually, physically and emotionally.

We pray that every person that is a part of the church becomes a Sanctuary, a safe haven, where anyone can come to, feel welcomed, at home and part of a family. A safe place which will allow individuals to become who they were designed and destined to be by God.

We are a small congregation in a large building, serving four estates and five schools in south Chesterfield. It's a predominately white working class area of multiple deprivation, with approx 12,000 people living here who mostly have no experience of faith or church. In recent times community links have been strengthened and together with partnering agencies we are now hosting food hubs and other community projects, and we are linking up, and joining in, with as many groups and organisations as we can.

Hope Church was started in January 2021 although it has been prayed over way before that. The Cornerstone collective is a group of churches across Merseyside seeking to plant communities of light across the region and Hope church forms part of that partnership. We believe however we go even further back than that and have been part of God’s plan for this neighbourhood to hear about Jesus. The heart of God is for every person in Kenny to hear about him and have a chance to respond to the living hope he offers in his Son Jesus Christ.

WRBC is in the centre of Hucknall. It is a former mining town in one of the most deprived areas in the UK (Ashfield, Notts). There is a lot of new housing being built but it is expensive, and the poorest and most vulnerable people are being neglected.
Our vision is to be ‘hope in the heart of our community’ and we aim to do this through building up friendships with people around us, partnering with community leaders and groups to help vulnerable people and address local needs. Above all we want to tell people of the love of Jesus and lead them to him.

Love Mexborough is simple, we believe Jesus loves our town and the people matter. We host community events for people to come and enjoy in the town we call home to remove the sacred secular divide, and to create space to encounter the presence of God. We are a small group of disciples striving to live the great comission.

The vision of HCW, based in the parish of St Nicolas in the market town of Witham in Essex. is about 'bringing hope and being community'. We seek to serve God in the town and the surrounding villages, and lead and help shape Christian communities as they emerge. Currently, we gather for worship weekly (on Sunday mornings) at Howbridge, a local C of E Junior School, and serve the local community, also weekly (on Tuesdays), at the Spring Lodge Community Centre, where we welcome local people to our Love Where U Live (Edge) Centre. The focus of the ministry of HCW is threefold: practical and pastoral service through Love Where U Live; serving local schools; and ministry to men.
